During Covid lockdown, when travel was restricted to 5km, I couldn’t travel to the west to paint the ocean. However, I was lucky that the Phoenix Park is on my doorstep (I can literally see the trees from my back garden) On my daily walks there, I took solace and inspiration from the magnificent trees. I painted plein air in Farmleigh Estate and Ashtown Castle. This painting was later part of my “Beauty of Trees” Exhibition in Ashtown Castle interpretive Centre in the Phoenix Park.
