Original Irish landscape painting in Acrylic inspired by the dramatic cloudscape
Sometimes my best paintings happen when I surrender to intuition and play with the paint. This painting was like that. Started as an abstract, I poured pure acrylic glazes of rich pink, jade green and deep blue and blew patterns with a straw. Then, I couldn’t figure out what to do next, so I abandoned it for 6 months.
After two weeks of painting and walking the beautiful Kerry beaches every day, I looked at this canvas with fresh eyes. I turned it on its side and saw a landscape in it that wanted to be born. The patterns blown with the straw suggested the cloudscape to me. I was relaxed and in that elusive flow state. The paint and brushes took over and I created this painting.
I absolutely love the vibrant colours and the energy in it!!
