Inspired by the Wild Atlantic Way and our beautiful Irish coastline.
I painted this while petsitting in Dingle one Spring. I spent my days painting and going for long walks on the deserted Fermoyle Strand with the beautiful sheepdog Coco. The weather was glorious, unseasonally warm and the light was amazing.
This is a very nostalgic painting. To capture the atmospheric soft light of the west of Ireland I used a lot of soft lilacs and pinks in the sky. Coco the sheepdog was my model for the dog. I was inspired by many happy memories of beachwalks with my daughters when they were young. This painting always makes me smile. Hence the title “Special memories”
